Sensei Len Glazer
Sensei Len Glazer has been studying martial arts for 29 years. He commenced training in Okinawan Karate in 1982 and has been studying Karate and Jujitsu with Master Dan Cohen since 1990 at the Brandeis Academy. Sensei Glazer currently holds the rank of Sandan (Third Degree Black Belt) in Seirenkai Jujitsu and Seirenkai Karate and is a certified instructor of both arts. He also continues to train as a member of the Yudanshakai (Black Belt Association) and at International seminars. He has taught Jujitsu programs at Camp Ramah in NY, at the Cambridge School in Weston, MA and served from 1994-1996 as the co-Chief Instructor of the Brandeis Dojo. In 1993, Sensei Glazer conducted an extended seminar with Master Cohen to introduce Jujitsu in Israel. Mr. Glazer often incorporates his academic and professional background in Psychology with his martial arts teaching and training. He has taught physical intervention and crisis prevention to mental health professionals in psychiatric hospitals in the Boston area. He has also taught Karate and Jujitsu at inpatient psychiatric facilities across the Northeast. He is a Brandeis graduate with Doctoral study in Clinical Psychology. Professionally he works as a Marketing Consultant for MEDITECH, a healthcare information technology firm.
Sensei Johanna Glazer
Sensei Johanna Glazer has trained with Master Daniel Cohen since 1990, beginning as a freshman at Brandeis University. She first earned her black belt in 1993 and currently holds the rank of Sandan (third degree black belt) in Seirenkai Karate and Seirenkai Jujitsu. She is a certified instructor in both arts. From 1994-1996 she was the co-Chief Instructor of the Brandeis Karate and Jujitsu Academy. She has taught numerous women’s self-defense and safety seminars at many schools and universities, and taught Karate and Jujitsu at the Taunton, MA State Hospital and the Judge Connolly Youth Center. As the founder and Chief Instructor of the Concord-Carlisle Adult Education Karate and Jujitsu program since the 1990’s, she directly impacts the community through clinics as well as on-going Jujitsu classes. She and her Concord students participate annually in international seminars, and one of her students completed original research in 2006 on the diversity and contributions of women in martial arts. She holds an M.A. in education and is a history teacher at Concord-Carlisle High School.
Sensei Stephen Lisauskas
Sensei Lisauskas holds fourth degree black belts in both Seirenkai Karate and Seirenkai Jujitsu. He began his martial arts training in 1990 and received his first black belt in 1995. He began teaching in New York and Massachusetts in the 1990's and internationally since 2002. He currently teachers Karate at Emerson Hospital, Brandeis University and Babson Colege. He also serves as a Director of the International Seirenkai Organization. A nationally recognized innovator in public policy and city administration, Sensei Lisauskas brings outstanding communication and leadership skills to the Emerson community in his teaching of Seirenkai Karate.
Sempai Olivia Sederlund began her training in 2003 under
Sensei Johanna Glazer and earned her black belt
in Jujitsu in 2009. She continues to train at the Concord Self-Defense Academy, at the Babson College dojo, through
Yudanshakai classes and at international and regional seminars. She earned the title of
Sempai (senior) in 2011. Sempai Sederlund is currently pursuing her Master of
Science in Education degree at Simmons College, and applies her educational
background to her martial arts teaching.
In July of 2010, Senseis Len and Johanna Glazer were honored by the International Seirenkai Organization with a Special Recognition. The award reads:
